GENT - With his team of 't Lammeken, Johan Loncelle climbed to second place on the ranking this week. The captain himself remains without a defeat in seven weeks. He beat Dion Nelin, frontman of BC Herentals last night: 50-40 in 31 innings.
It was a duel between two teams in the top five in Gent. The match was in balance during the break, by a victory of Huub Wilkowsky against Leon Smolders (42-40 in 43) and Michel Mens against Luc de Koster (42-29 in 53 ).
The leaders of 't Lammeken sealed victory in the second part. Johan Loncelle needed 31 innings to beat Dion Nelin, Dave Christiani won 50-41 in 48 innings against Christian Rudolph.
BC De Ploeg leads the league with 12 points, followed by 't Lammeken with eleven. BC Herentals dropped after the loss in Gent to a shared third place.
BC Deurne defeated Mr. 100 Lier with an excellent playing Dick Jaspers in the team. The Dutchman came out on top against Kurt Ceulemans 50-22 in 20 innings. Jean Paul de Bruijn beat his great idol, Raymond Ceulemans 50-46 in 40 innings.
For Mr. 100, Bart Ceulemans grabbed the only win. The youngest player of the team defeated Steven van Acker in a good match 42-31 in 26.
KBC Biljartvrienden and BC Kasteeldreef played a draw in Oud Turnhout without highlights. Most remarkable was that Patrick Kesteloot won his third match in a row and his fourth overall in seven rounds.
