jean-Francois Florent won his second Masters title in one cushion

RONCHIN - Jean-François Florent has added a second French Masters title to his record in the discipline one cushion. That happened this week in his home town Ronchin, eight years after his first one cushion title. Florent achieved 6.66 average. In total, it was the 12th French Masters title since 2003 for the Ronchin club president.

In the double KO qualifying round, Florent started with a win over Pascal Dessaint by 120-106 in 26, then lost his second game to Jacky Justice by 73-120 in 9. With his back against the wall, he then won four consecutive games against Alain Remond in the double KO decision by a score of 120-76 in 11, in the quarter-final against Jacky Justice 117-120 in 23, in the semi-final against Nicolas Gerassimopoulos 120-85 in 15 and in the final against Grégory Le Deventec 120-97 in 17 innings.

Grégory Le Deventec (average 8.01) will still have to wait to fulfil his ambitions of French Masters champion. He successively beat Alain Remond 120-25 in 16, Jordan Aubert 120-60 in 12, Pascal Dessaint 120-110 in 14 and Xavier Le Roy 120-102 in 13 innings before losing in the final.

Nicolas Gerassimopoulos (8.56) and Xavier Le Roy (8.40) grabbed the bronze medal with the two best overall averages in the championship.
