CHÂTILLON - The French champion Jean-Christophe Roux is the winner of the fourth ranking tournament, which was played in Châtillon. In the final he defeated Pierre Soumagne 40-33 in 32 innings. It was Roux' second victory in the ranking cycle this year. Jérémy Bury and Jean Reverchon won the other two tournaments.
Jean-Christophe Roux and Pierre Soumagne were the two winners in the semi-finals. Roux showed himself the strongest against Jérôme Barbillon (40-36 in 26) and Pierre Soumagne beat Francis Connesson 40-34 in 24 innings.
Jean-Christophe Roux recorded 1.265 general in his second tournament victory in a row after his last in Saint-Maur. Pierre Soumagne finished second with 1.088 and took his third podium place in four tournaments. The Laxou youngster played his best game in the semi-final against Francis Connesson (40-34 in 24).
Jérôme Barbeillon (1.258) and Francis Connesson (1.184) completed the podium.
The four players that were eliminated in the quarterfinals were, in order of ranking: Xavier Le Roy (1.081), Louis Edelin (1.098), Frédéric Roelants (1.113) and the the tournament surprise Olivier Bauchet (1.007).
The best match of the weekend was played by Jacky Justice, 30 points in 12 innings (2.500).
