BLANKENBERGE - The first title in the Belgian championship all disciplines goes to Jaimie Buelens. The champion in the ladies three cushion extended her championship by a victory in the final over Danielle le Bruyn: 26-22 in the maximum 50 innings. The tournament was played with four ladies. The tension in the matches compensated for the somewhat disappointing level. Only Buelens and Le Bruyn finished just over 0.5 average. Many matches to 27 caroms couldn't be finished within the maximum 50 innings, like in the final, in which Buelens was the better of Le Bruyn.

Peter Debaes and Mathy Monnissen were the group winners in the 5 pins in the first tournament weekend. They advanced together with Peter Mostrey and Yves Schiettecatte for the semi-finals, which are played on Saturday at 13.30. Martin Spoormans, who also comes into action in three cushion, one cushion and as a referee, and Miguel Bustos are out with two losses.

Kevin van Hees is the temporary leader in three cushion for juniors with six match points out of four matches. Dylan Parent and Stef van Hees are two points behind, but will meet each other in the last weekend. These two players are the favourites for the title based on the average. Dylan Parent has 0.745 out of three matches, Stef van Hees 0.636. Kevin van Hees is the outside player for the top podium places with 0.648.

The tournament was opened by Benny van Goethem, the new chairman of the Belgian federation. For the first time, the Belgian Multi's are played in ten disciplines. The players in the game type three-cushion for seniors will come into action from today, Monday, on the first day with Steven van Acker, Eddy Willems, Jef Philipoom, Danny Geysen, Davy van Havere, Marco Janssen, Ronny Brants and Mathy Monnissen. The start will also be made with the classic disciplines: free game, 71/2 and 47/1, in which Eddy Leppens, Patrick Niessen, Philippe Deraes Peter Debaes, Robby Sonck, Maarten Janssen and Johan Devos are in the arena.

Today, the matches start at 11.00. All matches can be followed directly at kozoom.com.
