SEOUL/INCHEON - The stunning attack of 18 by Jae-Ho Cho with a brilliant shot (reverse English draw shot) was the highlight on the day of the second chances at the Survival Masters in Seoul. Three groups of four battled for four places in the final rounds. Jae-Ho Cho, Dinh Nai Ngo and Dick Jaspers finished as the group winners, Marco Zanetti was the best runner-up to join the field of sixteen. The best score (104pts), run (18) and average (2.846) went to the name of Jae-Ho Cho.
Dick Jaspers and Dinh Nai Ngo were the winners in the two other groups. Marco Zanetti, with 72 points, was the best of the number two's after a do-or-die match beating Jérémy Bury with 68 and HaengJik Kim with 62 points. The players who must leave the tournament are Sameh Sidhom, Quyet Chien Tran, Jérémy Bury, Torbjörn Blomdahl, Eddy Leppens, HaengJik Kim, Tayfun Tasdemir and Jung-Han Heo.
The performances of Jae-Ho Cho (2.846), Dick Jaspers (2.833), Marco Zanetti (2.230), Haeng-Jik Kim (2.250) and Tayfun Tasdemir (2.000) were outstanding. Quyet Chien Tran (1.153), Torbjörn Blomdahl (1.312), Jérémy Bury (1.375) and most of all Eddy Leppens (0.500) were at the bottom of the scores.
The group format in the semi-finals:
Group A: Dani Sánchez, Lütfi Cenet, Sung-Won Choi and Marco Zanetti
Group B: Semih Sayginer, Eddy Merckx, Dong-Koong Kang and Dick Jaspers
Group C: Murat Naci Coklu, Myung-Woo Cho, Hyung-Kon Kim and Dinh Nai Ngo
Group D: Nguyen Quoc Nguyen, Frédéric Caudron, Nikos Polychronopoulos and Jae-Ho Cho.
The matches, are at 3:00pm, 5:00pm, 7:00pm and 9:00pm Korean time.
