PORCIA - The top team Green Planet Gold (ex-Bolzano) has won the Italian championship for teams which was played in its own house. The line-up in the winning team was Marco Zanetti, Andreas Efler Giorgio Mancini, Andreas Efler, Fabio Gaiotti and Daniele de Biasi. In the final match, All Games was the opponent: Green Planet won 6-2. The numbers one and two qualified for the European championships in Brandenburg.
The winning team Green Planet Gold broke six Italian records last year, including the overall team average: 1.011. Zanetti equaled the world record match average with 40 in six innings.
Nine teams showed up for the final rounds. Green Planet Gold from Pordemone, Sporting Club 2000 from Catalani, La Biglia from Modica and All Games from Trapani were the favorites for the title.
Green Planet started in the group stage with an unbeaten series and 1.108 team average. Andreas Efler played the best match 40 in 19 innings. Second in this group was Snooker Bowling with two match points. All Games, with Emilio Sciacca, won all its matches in Group B ahead of Ludomania Club. In Group C La Biglia took the win ahead of Billards Cafe.
Green Planet Gold, All Games, La Biglia and Snooker Bowling met each other in the semi-finals. Green Planet won the match against Snooker Bowling 6-2 with a 0.911 team average. All Games defeated La Biglia 6-2.
In the final match, Mancini recorded a strong match against Sciacca, whom he defeated 40-35 in 28 innings. Marco Zanetti (28 innings) and Andreas Efler (in 40 innings) dragged the other match points inside.
The best overall average: Marco Zanetti 1.524.
Best match: Andrew Efler, 40 in 19.
