ATHENS - The final ranking tournement for the Greek three cushion championship, from today (3th of May) until Sunday in Koralli billiards club in Athens, will be a first and new promotion fort he sport: the matches will be broadcast live on Kozoom for Premium pass holders. The Greek president Nick Tremoulis and his son Alex have installed the cameras this week and face a trial run. ,,We are ready to rock, '' said the president of the Hellenic Billiard Union on the eve of the tournament with all the stars of Greek three cushion like Polychronopoulos, Kasidokostas, Kokkoris, Papakonstantinou, Tremoulis, Balloganis and others.
Kostas Kokkoris leads the rankings after three tournaments followed by Nick Polychronopoulos and Filippos Kasidokostas. Players have the right to exclude one of four tournaments. That's in favour of Nick Polychronopoulos, who missed one tournament and won the last two events. He is twelve points behind Kokoris, the winner of the first tournament. Polychronopoulos is the big contender to retain the title.
The previous final, in the Barrage club, was a one-man show of Polychronopoulos in the match against Kokkoris: 40-12 in 10 innings. With that victory, Polychronopoulos climbed to second place in the ranking. Also in the final of the second tournament in the Trisponto Club, Polychronopoulos sparkled. The reigning champion defeated Filippos Kasidokostas after a delay 39-26 with a final run of fourteen. Kasidokostas then missed the equalizing inning.
Nick Tremoulis is delighted with the live broadcast on Kozoom. ,,I managed to set everything with the help of my son and due to luck of space to make a patent for installing the cameras without tripods. We had the help, that I asked, from Xavier Carrer and Xavier Buttner, so there was no problem at all. The next event we will stream is the team championships and the finals in classic games.''
