ATHENS - The Greek billiard player Giannis Papadakis and his wife Chrisoula have opened a brand new billiard room in Piraeus, near the ancient city of Athens at about ten minutes from the Acropolis. The Trisponto club existed already for three years, but is completely renewed with an ultra-modern look, four new Verhoeven billiard tables and is one of the big clubs in the Greek capital after the Barrage Club.

The owner says that he is a ,,romantic player'' who has make his dream come true in three years: a billiards club where every player is welcomed with a lot of respect. The Trisponto club has 98 members at the moment. ,,We want to develop further and have the opportunity and more space now to do that. And moreover to give more comfort to the players'', says Giannis.

His club, Trisponto BC, is situated Piraeus, the big port of Athens. The four new Verhoeven billiards are Black star 2011 models. Thereby we are the only club in the world.''

The Greek billiard federation has designated the club for the last stretch of the Greek championship with 32 players, played from 29th of May until 1st of June. Twice, in 2012 and 2014, the Trisponto club held the Acropolis tournament won by Filippos Kasidokostas.

,,I am fully in love with the game and I wanted to create with my wife this high level club'', says Giannis Papadakis, father of two children, Eva and Valia.
He considers the German Olaf Reifflin, known as the vanguard for women's billiards, as one of his great friends. ,,He's the only man to change our clothes (only Simonis Delsa blue) and now is coming from Turkey to change the clothes for the Greek championship and the Acropolis tournament 2015. ,,Olaf is like a brother to my family.''

The Greek championship continues next week (May 29) in the club Trisponto club with top favourite Nikos Polychronopoulos and as his major competitors Kostas Papakonstantinou, Dyonnisis Tsokantas, Nick Tremoulis, Evaggelos Moulos and Kostas Kokkoris. There is a livestreem: www.ustream.tv
