The French three-cushion team competition is in full swing today with five matches in the top league. The third round will feature many top international players, such as Dick Jaspers, Eddy Merckx, Nick Polychronopoulos, Jérémy Bury, Glenn Hofman, Sameh Sidhom, Roland Forthomme, Omer Karakurt, Jean Paul de Bruijn, Peter Ceulemans, and Jef Philipoom. For many billiards fans, this is a great opportunity to watch the players live on Kozoom. The matches will be broadcast live starting at 4:00 PM this Friday afternoon.
This year's French team competition will feature ten teams, which will first meet in six rounds of home- and away matches. The final three rounds will then be played in La Baule (see schedule). The league leaders Soissons, featuring Eddy Merckx, Jérémy Bury, Jean Paul de Bruijn, and Kevin Vasseur, play an away match today (Friday, November 28) against Intermarché, featuring Fréderic Mottet and Dimitrios Seleventas. Andernos (Polychronopoulos, Forthomme, Maréchal, and Barbeillon) plays an away match against DSB Prevalrisk (Steven van Acker, Raymund Swertz).
Blois' first team, third in the standings, plays a strong away match against Colmar. Blois will feature Glenn Hofman, Sameh Sidhom, Maxime Panaia, and Mikaël Devogelaere. Their opponents field Omer Karakurt and Thorsten Frings, among others.
Saint-Quentin prepares for an away match against Courbevoie, featuring players including Jean Reverchon-Dick Jaspers, Vahit Kunt-Johan Loncelle. Blois Doozy's second team, featuring Barras-Philipoom, Puigvert-Ceulemans, and Leculeur-Melnytschenko, will host Albert.
