FRANKFURT AM MAIN – The BC Nied team from Frankfurt am Main made the best start in the German bundesliga three-cushion for teams. The first leader, after the competion started with a double weekend, even remained unbeaten in eight matches. BC Nied beat BC International 8-0 and one day later on Sunday BC Munich by the maximum score. Sameh Sidhom was the team's strong leading player.
BC Elversberg also won its first two matches 2-6 at GT Buer and 0-8 at BC Witten. That puts the team in shared first place, followed by BC Weywiesen, that played only one match and won against Elfenbein 6-2.
For BC Nied, Sameh Sidhom, Berkay Karakurt, Tobias Bouerdick and Heik Roth scored the maximum score. Sidhom won his first match again Martin Horn 50-31 in 24 and played 1.724 on average in the match against Munich. Berkay Karakurt won against Cengiz Karaca 50-46 in 41 and had a win against Munich with 1.470.
BC Elversberg had its best players in Ruben Legazpi and Michael Nilsson. The Spaniard registered 1,724 against GT Buer and 1,923 against BC Witten. Michael Nilsson won his two matches with 1.428 and 1.470. Thorsten Frings also remained unbeaten. The reigning champion, BC Weywiesen, only came into action on Saturday and beat Elfenbein 6-2. Torbjörn Blomdahl was the better of Dustin Jäschke 50-31 in 30, Roland Forthomme lost to Stefan Galla 50-46 in 40, while Christian Rudolph won against John Tijssens 40-32 in 37.
