Foreign invasion in 16th round Dutch team league

The sixteenth round of the Dutch premier league is more or less the run-up to the World championship for nation teams to be played next week in Viersen, Germany. Just four players will show up in Holland with a mission in Viersen. For Dutchmen Jean Paul de Bruijn and Jeffrey Jorissen, it is a final test to high up their form. The foreign players who play in the Kozoom league in the Netherlands on Sunday and then travel on to Viersen are Ruben Legazpi and Sergio Jimenez who play for Spain. Eddy Merckx, along with Jef Philipoom for Belgium, will get time off from SIS Schoonmaak, that plays with Jean van Erp as frontman in The Hague against J&F Auto's.

Therese Klompenhouwer hopes to win her second European title with the Dutch team in Ankara this weekend, after Friday's individual title. The champion will therefore not play in Holland with J&F Auto's and will be replaced by German Dustin Jäschke. Nikos Polychronopoulos, the leading player for Team Eekhoorn in the away match against Dallinga, is reserve for the Greek team in Viersen playing with Kokkoris and young Seleventas. Peter Ceulemans, also from Team Eekhoorn, is the reserve for Belgium, where as his country's champion he does get to play the World championship in Viersen next year.

SIS Schoonmaak defends the top position in the Kozoom league with a 1 point margin on Team Eekhoorn and 2 on ST Zundert. SIS thus travels to The Hague for the encounter with J&F Auto's, Team Eekhoorn to Sluiskil for the meeting with Dallinga and Zundert plays the home match against Bousema Lochem. Robinson Morales, at the podium of the World Cup in Bogotá, plays in the premier league this Sunday, not in Viersen. Glenn Hofman, who was also at the podium in Bogotá, has a weekend off in Cues&Darts team.
