GOYANG - The Green Force team, leader after two rounds in the PBA team league, started the third league round (six in total) with a comfortable win. The frontrunner, including Korean Jae-ho Cho as the leader, beat Dani Sánchez's team 4-0. The Spaniard himself was beaten by Jae-ho Cho 15-10. Also notable in the first round was that the last two Tour winners, David Martinez and Ayako Sakai, started with losses in the team league. Green Force also plays Angels (Zapata) today (Friday), Winners plays Direct and Hana Play meets Bazzar. The matches are played at the Kintex Stadium in Goyang.
Winners, which is in the low parts of the ranking, started the third round with a 4-1 win over Legend. Vietnamese Phuong Linh Nguyen beat Semih Sayginer 15-12 in that match, Lütfi Cenet was the better of Javier Palazón 11-3.
HanaPlay won the match against Laon with the smallest score: 4-3. Tae-kwan Kim was one of the winners for Laon playing Nguyen Quoc Nguyen (15-10). Murat Naci Coklu defeated David Martinez 11-9 and in the ladies, Ayako Sakai was beaten by Jung-suk Lim 9-5.
Angels was superior against Direct (4-1) thanks partly to Juan David Zapata beating Dong Koong Kang 15-10 and Min-gu Kang winning against Eddy Leppens 11-8.
In the team league, Dani Sánchez still has no win in this round. The Spaniard lost to Jae-ho Cho and in the double with Deuk-hee Hwang to the Korean twosome Jae-ho Cho/Hyun-woo Kim.
Laon revenged for the first loss by a 4-2 victory over Phoenix. In that match, Turk Birol Uymaz won by the smallest possible score against David Martinez: 15-14.
