The billiard room where the European championship is played in Dudelange

DUDELANGE - The final match between the German Simon Blondeel and the Belgian Bryan is decisive for the title at the European championship free game for players under 17. The two leaders remained unbeaten on Saturday in the championship which is played in Dudelange (Luxembourg). Blondeel leads the rankings with 12 match points out of six matches and an average of 30.00, Eelen played five matches, has 10 match points and 23.80.

The excellent organization, with Carlo Pallucca as sports director, decided on Saturday to move two matches from the sixth round to Sunday morning. Therefor, Bryan Eelen has to catch up one match. The Dutchman Leon Dudink and Frenchman Yohann Alderbonn are third and fourth in the ranking, but our out of contention for the title. They play for the third place on the podium.

The two remaining contenders held their unbeaten status on Saturday. Blondeel played the best match of the tournament so far: he defeated the Luxemburger Maxime Schreiner in two innings, 200-11 and a final run of 191. The German further took the win in an exciting match against Alderbonn (200-196 in seven) and vs Kevin van Hees 200-167 in eight (run Blondeel 142, Van Hees 136).

Bryan Eelen defeated Nick Dudink 200-52 in five and Alderbonn 200-133 in four (run Eelen 189, Alderbonn 120). This morning, Eelen plays his deferred match against Leon Dudink.
