VIERSEN - The French sports director Jean Pierre Guiraud of the European federation has made the draw for the European Cup for clubteams, on Saturday at the World championship in Viersen. The preliminaries will be played at five locations from 18th until April 19th. The final with Turkish titleholder Bahcelievler is scheduled in the weekend from 29 to 31 May in Istanbul.
The five places where the qualifications will be played are Athens (Greece), Porcia (Italy), Porto (Portugal), Sabadell (Spain) and Bergisch Gladbach (Germany).
The main contenders for the qualification and the leading players are:
AEJ/Dallinga from Netherlands with Frédéric Caudron, Dick Jaspers, Eddy Merckx and Jean Paul de Bruijn.
Porto from Portugal with Torbjörn Blomdahl, Dani Sánchez and Rui Costa.
Andernos from France with Filippos Kasidokostas and Roland Forthomme.
Gröndal from Denmark with Dion Nelin and Tonny Carlsen.
BSK Union from Austria with Martin Horn and Andreas Efler.
Coral Colon from Spain with Jose Maria Mas, Carlos Crespo and Sergio Jimenez.
