ANTALYA - The countdown to the European championships all disciplines in billiards has started. The wonderful and professional Turkish arena in Antalya is building up and prepared over the next few days for the massive event, which starts on Saturday 8 April and lasts until Sunday 16 April. The so-called 'All-in one' event, which is held every two years, brings more than 400 billiard players to the start coming from 18 countries. They will compete over nine days for a total of 15 titles. The organizers announced before that the honoring of the champions will be sober out of respect for the earthquake victims in Turkey. The Turkish organization takes over the mega-tournament from Brandenburg, Germany, where the tournament was held from 2013 to 2019. For the European federation, the CEB, the championship is the highlight on the 2023 calendar.
The tournament management announced three new competitions: women's individual 5-pins, women's national team three cushion and artistic billiards for national teams. The integration of the European championship for players under 25 is also important for the organisation. ’’They are the future for our sport, we are delighted that they can be close to their idols’’,
CEB president Diane Wild makes clear the intention of the initiative.
The Turkish Federation (TBF) is offering the billiard players a total of 28 Zeki billiard tables. The 71 CEB arbitrators come from nine different countries.
