Therese Klompenhouwer will not be able to defend her European title in 2017

BOTTROP - The European billiards federation (CEB) has taken some decisions during its board meeting in Bottrop, Germany. The European championship in Brandenburg was a great success again and at the meeting was officially announced that the European multi championship will be played again in Brandenburg an der Havel in 2017.

The women will not play an European championship anymore as of this year, both in three cushion and free game.

That means among others that Therese Klompenhouwer will not be able to defend her title in 2017.

The CEB writs on its site: ,,In order to promote the female billiard, the CEB board has decided to replace the European championship for ladies played every two years by a European Ladies Cup three cushion and a European Ladies Cup Libre which could be organized each year by national federations. During the first 3 years, there will be no entry fees for the players.''

Moreover, the first two of the European ladies ranking receive a wild card to play in the men's European championship in Brandenburg 2017.

The Netherlands has already showed its interest for the organization.

Dietmar Schingten (Luxemburg) was appointed as the CEB new Youth-Director ad-interim.

The next European Cup national teams 5 Pins will take place in Herstal (Belgium) in spring 2016.
