Double weekend in Kozoom league up to new World Cup

OOSTERHOUT/LOCHEM - Ahead of a distant World Cup (in Seoul), a number of players will face a nice warm-up in a double round in the Dutch premier league, the Kozoom league, this weekend. Eddy Merckx first played the top match in the Belgian league with Biljart Express against Herstaliën headed by Roland Forthomme last Friday evening. Before they travel to Korea, Jeffrey Jorissen, Nikos Polychronopoulos, Berkay Karakurt and Pierre Soumagne, among others, will come to the tables twice more in the premier league. Sam van Etten and Joey de Kok only play on Saturday.

Team Eekhoorn, SIS Schoonmaak and Stichting Topbiljart Zundert are the three leaders with eight points out of five matches. That battle will bring a great weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Team Eekhoorn meets Aartsbouw Sprundel on Saturday in an away match with Nikos Polychronopoulos as its leader and Sunday's away match against Zundert, this weekend's top affair, in the same line-up. At Zundert, Sergio Jimenez is the leading player on Sunday.

SIS Schoonmaak, first-time loser last Sunday at home against J&F Auto's, travels to Bousema in Lochem on Saturday with Eddy Merckx against Jeffrey Jorissen on centre court. On Sunday, SIS plays at home Burgmans Biljarts. STZ Zundert, the third frontrunner, plays J&F Auto's on Saturday and thus Team Eekhoorn on Sunday.
