SPRUNDEL - The premier three-cushion league in Holland has a total of four real derbies in the regular competition. Today, Sunday, one of these four will be played in De Drie Zwaantjes in Sprundel. There, in Brabant, the teams of Dekker/AP and Aartsbouw meet each other, currently the numbers 7 and 11 of the ranking. Of the leaders and the three main rivals, SIS Schoonmaak will meet DKM Tools at home. For the numbers 2 with one match point deficit, two runners-up are meeting: Team Eekhoorn against Bousema Lochem. The matches are at 1pm, to be seen live on Kozoom.
SIS Schoonmaak will do without Belgian champion Eddy Merckx, Dallinga without Dutch champion Jean Paul de Bruijn. Both top players are playing for the Danish competition this weekend. Jean van Erp is front man for SIS Schoonmaak against DKM Tools, Steven van Acker leads the Dallinga team in the away match against Cues&Darts, where Glenn Hofman is front man ahead of Ruben Legazpi, Burak Hashas and Jack van Peer. Nice detail is that Jean Paul de Kraker, the Zeeland substitute who occasionally plays in the premier league, will face Burak Hashas, one of the main talents in global three-cushion.
Team Eekhoorn shows its title ambitions in the home match against Bousema, putting Nikos Polychronopoulos in the lead against Jeffrey Jorissen. Peter Ceulemans meets his Belgian rival Johan Loncelle, Frans van Kuyk faces Stefan Galla, Jerry Hermans gets Frans van Schaik as opponent.
The Sprundel derby can expect a nice crowd for this Sunday afternoon's match. The matches are: Dave Christiani-Ronny Brants, Barry van Beers-Dirk Weeremans, Gerwin Valentijn-Tom Persyn, Henk Blauwblomme-Ad Broeders.
Sergio Jimenez comes over from Spain for Zundert's match against Team Nachtwacht. Burgmans Biljarts must fight J&F Auto's with Anno de Kleine, Bart Ceulemans in the lead against Kay de Zwart and Joey de Kok, Marco Janssen prepares for the match with Therese Klompenhouwer.
