Dani Sánchez was the winner of the Grand Prix in Spain beating Rubén Legazpi in the final match

MATALASCANAS - Dani Sánchez recorded a strong victory in his own country shortly before his departure to the World Cup in Hochiminh City. The Spanish world champion won the Grand Prix Almonte in Matalascañas in the province Huelva by defeating Rubén Legazpi in the final match 40-26 in 18 innings. Sánchez was briljant earlier in the best match of the tournament with a win over Luis Avallone in 9 innings (4.444).

The final winner came into the final with a victory against Javier Palazón in the semi-finals (40-36 in 21), Ruben Legazpi defeated Antonio Montes in the semi-final 40-15 in 18. In the run-up to the final day, Javier Palazón beat the local favorite Jaime Sanchez Faraco 40-24 in 16. That was the best game of the day.

Antonio Montes went on in a previous round without playing, because of the absence of Juan Bouterín. Dani Sánchez beat Alfonso Legazpi in 26, David Martínez bested Jesús Jiménez in 27 innings. In the second session of the quarter finals, some exciting matches were played. Dani Sánchez was the strongest against David Martínez 40-31 in 20. Antonio Montes defeated Juanjo Pineda: 40-30 in 32. Javier Palazón and David Zapata had a close finish, won by Palazón 40-38 in 39. Rubén Legazpi and Ricardo García ended at 40-40 after 27 innings. Legazpi won the shootout.
