BARCELONA – He was on his way to the World Cup in Medellin, Dani Sánchez, about to take the flight from Barcelona to Miami. But on the airport, the Spanish triple world champion suddenly felt severe pains in the stomach area. He gave us a scare when news reached us that Dani even could not walk and was taken to hospital in Barcelona.
,,I had already picked up my boarding pass, but the pain was so intense that I could not leave,'' he told us one day later. Dani Sánchez is back home now, after a six- hour stay in the hospital. And he’s doing better now. ,,But tomorrow, or on Friday, I have to be back, for some investigations and and possibly surgery.''
The diagnosis in the hospital was quickly made: an inflammation of the digestive system. Dani: ,,I suffer already for two years with stomach problems, but yesterday I felt so bad that I could not walk and absolutely could not fly. It could even have been dangerous, that’s what the doctor said, when I had taken the flight. But last night I could go home and I feel much better.''
The Spanish billiard player will not show up in the World Cup in Medellin, where he should play two days ;later. He has informed the sportsdirector of the tournament, Farouk Barki, immediately. ,,I will send the hospital report to the UMB, the world federation.''
,,I don’t want people to worry about me. I 'm just sick, some problems with my stomach, as it can happen to anyone. But I’m okay, don’t worry.’’
Thank you, Dani, for your quick reaction.
Get well soon.
