GANGWON-DO - In the week after his return from New York, young Korean Cho Myung-Woo has won a ranking tournament in Gangwon-do. In the final, Cho defeated Heo Jung-Heo in the shoot-out after the regular match ended in 40-40 and Cho won the extension 2-1. Choi Sung-Won and Lee Choong-Bok shared third place on the final ranking. The tournament counted for the Korean individual championship, which has a total of 9 ranking tournaments this season. This tournament was the fifth. Kim HaengJik is the current Korean champion. The ranking after 5 tournaments now is: 1 Cho Jae-Ho, 2 Cho Myung-Woo, 3 Kim HaengJik.
At the ladies event, Kim Min-Ah won the tournament ahead of Sruong Pheavy. The tournament winner in New York, young talent Han Jieun and Park Jihyun finished third and fourth.
This week, a Scotch double tournament was also played at the Chuncheon Lakeside Gymnasium in Gangwon-do. The victory went to Cho Chi-Yeon and Kim Bong-Cheol, followed by Cho Jae-Ho and Lighting Woo. Third and fourth were Choi Ho-Il/Kim HaengJik and Cho Soo-Hyun/Park Hyun-Kyu.
