WESTMALLE - Can we speak about the most spectacular match ever played in one cushion with lots of highlights and high runs? The audience gets ready for the big fight with the two absolute masters in this discipline, coming to the tables in De Salpho in Malle from tomorrow. The start of the Challenge between Jean Paul de Bruijn (Netherlands) and Frédéric Caudron (Belgium) is Friday at 15.00. The two players meet each other in a match over 1500 carams, spread over ten sessions.

World championship 2009 in Cervera, Spain
In the semifinals we see the big match between the two champions: De Bruijns disturbs Caudron's dream to take the world title.
Result: 150-115 in five innings. Wolfgang Zenkner takes the final against De Bruijn en is still the reigning champion.
European championship in Cervera, 2009
Two years later, Caudron takes his revenge in the same place and he wins the European championship in the final against De Bruijn in six innings: 150-48. The absolute highlight of this championship was the group match between Caudron and Bernard Baudoin: 125-45 in two innings.
European championship Brandenburg, 2013
The last time Caudron and De Bruijn met in a major tournament. Caudron wins in the semifinals 120-40 in six innings. Until that match De Bruijn was on his way to a sensational European championship: he played around twenty average.
Caudron won the European championship in the final against Frenchman Bernard Villiers.
The conclusion: in all these mutual matches, the two champions showed their world class. The Kozoom Challenge in the Salpho must turn out into the highlight in one cushion history.
