The young Turkish player Can Capak (26) who beat Dick Jaspeers.

HURGHADA - The 26-year-old Turkish didn't even raise his cue. Can Capak just had made his final carom in his match against Dick Jaspers, sent the world champion home (3-2) and stepped to the Dutchman on his chair with a friendly gesture, as if he is used to wins against famous players.

His reputation didn't reach much further than Turkey so far, where he is not that high on the ranking this year, but in previous years he sometimes was one of the top ten players. The relapse has something to do with his work: Capak worked in a billiard cafe in Istanbul until last week, but now he has to look for another job.

Maybe it didn't work so bad for him, because he shows a big form for Hurghada. The young promising star, who seeded himself in the final qualifying round in a group with Polychronopoulos and Rudolph and defeated the Korean Jae Ho Cho in the first round of the main tournament, showed in any case his power and played without any hesitation against Jaspers.

His biggest success he grabbed almost ten years ago, in 2003, when Capak was the European junior champion after he won the final against Rubben Legazpi. But before his match against Jaspers, he also beat players like Filipos Kasidokostas, Dion Nelin and Chung Won Choi.

Tonight he will meet Jérémy Bury  in the quarterfinals. The young French player won the prestige battle against Marco Zanetti 3-1 (average 2.631). It was his third win in three mutual matches with the Ialian this year, who is his teammate in the famous Agipi team. Bury earlier this year won in the Suwon World Cup and the semifinals of the Agipi Masters.

The party for Andrés Naranjo, the rather uncomplicated Colombian, who beat Dani Sánchez yesterday, is over. He lost his match against Sung Won Choi with a pretty hard score: 3-0. The Korean produced his 45 caroms in 15 innings (3.000 average, run of twelve).

Kyung Roul Kim was the fourth player in the first day session who seeded for the quarterfinal. The big Korean surprised everyone yesterday: he arrived at seven o'clock in the morning in Hurghada and surprised with the highest level in the afternoon with an average over three and a set of fifteen in one inning.

This morning he defeated Christian Rudolph, 3-0 in sets, he made another run of twelve and averaged 1.730.
