DOUARNENEZ - The European team champion in the classical disciplines, Douarnenez Valdys, is hosting the European Cup 2019 this weekend. Five teams and the title holder, divided into two groups of three, compete for the new European title in the serial games. The double French champion Douarnenez from Brittany is again the main contender with Dutchman Raymund Swertz and French Pierre Soumagne and Grégory Le Deventec. The championship will be broadcast life and for free for Kozoom members.
The French teams are in the majority with three. Germany is represented by two teams and the Netherlands with one team. Well known players in the classic game types that come into action include Raymund Swertz (the Netherlands), Sam van Etten (the Netherlands), Jos Bongers (Netherlands) Ludger Havlik (Germany), Thomas Nockemann (Germany), Pierre Soumagne (France), Marek Faus (Czech), Xavier Grétillat (Switzerland) and French Willy Gérimont, Johann Petit, Jacky Justice and Pierre Martory.
