TILBURG – The amateur footbal players in Holland won't have to drive across the country on icy or snowy roads this weekend. The billiards players, representing the teams in the premier league, the Kozoom League, play their 12th round this Sunday, and in the same weekend the youngest players compete for the Dutch title in Tilburg. Bousema's team makes the longest trip on Sunday: about 150 kilometers to Team Eekhoorn in Oosterhout. Dallinga makes ten kilometers shorter to visit Paperclip in Capelle aan den IJssel.
Cues&Darts takes off for the short trip to Uden from the matches in their own home for the Dutch Junior Championships to the away match against SIS/Vervoort. Ruben Legazpi is one of the players who took the flight from Spain to Schiphol and will play with Cues&Darts against Raimond Burgman. Jean van Erp and Glenn Hofman meet up for a classic match on center court.
Aartsbouw is defending its comfortable lead in an away match against Van Baal and can make the 10-kilometer trip virtually by bike. Barry van Beers might be able to do that, but Eddy Merckx, Turgay Orak, and Allan Schröder won't have that luxury this winter weekend. Anyway, there's a derby in D'n Hoek with three Belgians, two from Brabant, a Turk, a Dane, and a North Holland player. Aartsbouw holds a four-match-point lead over Bousema and three over Team Eekhoorn and Cues&Darts. Team Eekhoorn vs. Bousema is the match for second place, with a strong lineup in all positions. Peter Ceulemans vs. Martin Horn is the top match, Amir Ibraimov, the German junior, plays against Frans van Schaik, the veteran player from Amsterdam. Paperclip, aiming for a high position, plays with Dick Jaspers and Jérémy Bury, meeting Dallinga.
