GOYANG - Two of the big names in the PBA league, Dani Sánchez and Semih Sayginer, have been quickly eliminated in the Bazzar event that started this week. Dani Sánchez's sponsor in the team competition gave its name to this edition, but the Spaniard is no longer competing for the main prizes, the same as Semih Sayginer, who won by penalties over Sung-won Choi in the previous round.
The two famous Europeans flew out of the tournament in the second round with 64 players. Semih Sayginer was eliminated by Myoung-gyoo Park 3-1 in sets (1.846 for the Korean, 1.640 for the Turk). Dani Sánchez had to bow to Sang-uong Lee 3-1 (1.516 for the Korean, 1.633 for Sanchez). Sánchez gave away a 1-0 lead and then lost three sets 15-10, 15-12 and 15-12.
The Europeans who did get through the second round are Eddy Leppens, Can Capak, Savas Bulut and Spaniards Javier Palazón, David Martinez, Yvan Mayor, Antonio Montes and Juan David Zapata.
