Bart Ceulemans need a win in his second match to survive

Bart Ceulemans, grandson of Raymond Ceulemans, has to keep his fingers crossed after his bad start. The young Belgian was defeated by the Dutchman Marcel van Berkel in three sets: 12-15, 15-5 and 11-15. The average of Ceulemans (0.863) was a little better than his opponent (0.777), but the Belgian later on the day will need a good win against the Czech Marek Vasa.

Jorge Bastos from Portugal shined by a run of seven in his first performance, ended with a win against Ingo Fischer (Germany), but averaged just a little over 0.500. Arnim Kahover will be a stronger opponent for Bastos in his next match.

The Egypt player Hamdi Badhr treated his fans on a 2-0 win against Vincent Eugene from Belgium and an average of 0.810.

The pre-pre qualification will deliver twelve players which are going to duel tomorrow with known players like Tonny Carlsen, Pierre Soumagne, Alan Keith, Francis Forton and Ad Koorevaar.
