Barry van Beers played himself for his own audience in the final rounds.

ZUNDERT - Two players from the home team in Zundert have already seeded for the final rounds of the Christmas tournament. Harrie (van de Ven) and Barry (van Beers) grabbed the second place in their groups in the final matches of tonight. The other two players of Snellen Recycling are still in the race. Roland Forthomme needs a win against Peter de Backer tomorrow, Peter Ceulemans even has to beat Eddy Merckx.

The second day of the tournament, with two more matches to play in the groups C and D, was marked by a demonstration of Frédéric Caudron tonight against Gerwin Valentijn, a run of thirteen of Eddy Leppens against Jef Philipoom, the elimination of Haeng Jik Kim, the Korean junior world champion, who started the tournament so strong and the qualification for the quarter finals of four Belgians (Caudron, Merckx, Leppens and Spoormans) and two Dutch (Van de Ven and Van Beers).

The last two places are forgiven in the matches tomorrow between Roland Forthomme and Peter de Backer in group C and Peter Ceulemans and Eddy Merckx in D, with Raimond Burgman as the third player. He plays against Jeffrey van Nijnatten, has to win himself and is seeded when Peter Ceulemans loses against Merckx.

The public in any case could enjoy the qualification of Barry van Beers (while losing against Glenn Hoffman, but with three match points thanks to the draw against Caudron) and Harrie van de Ven, who played himself with two excellent victories against Jef Philipoom and Haeng Jik Kim in the final round.

Jef Philipoom had the honor to make the last carom of the day. He defeated Eddy Leppens 50-46 and could return home with one win.
