The second PBA/LPBA tour stop of the season kicked off this week in Ansan, in the north-west of South Korea. The first round of 128-player direct KO play produced a number of surprises.
Semih Sayginer is feeling at home in Korea, and he proved it once again by beating a formidable opponent: Choong-bok LEE. Daniel Sanchez, on the other hand, had a tough time of it, losing again in the first round, this time on penalties to his compatriot David Martinez. Another Spaniard eliminated prematurely: David Zapata lost 3-1 to Korea's Ki-Myung Park. New recruit Sung-Won Choi was also slow to find her feet and didn't make it past the first round.
On the other hand, Belgium's Caudron and Leppens made it through, as did Turkey's Coklu, Capak and Bullut, who eliminated his compatriot Yuksel.
